I live in Portland, Oregon and work as a story artist and facial animation designer at Laika. For the past 15 years, however, I wandered the continent as a vagrant, self-taught animator hocking my drawings to any studio that would buy them...this led to a pinball-like career that eventually landed me at my goal, animated features. I do not necessarily recommend this strategy to anyone else with this goal. I did get to live in a bunch of cities, though, so that was pretty entertaining, which is nice.
